AYLESFORD, N.S. — Brigadoon Village is encouraging Maritimers to join in on a social media campaign highlighting children with illness and their families by posting a picture of a paper boat.

The Kids’ Health Charities campaign is urging Atlantic Canadians to print off a paper boat, take a picture and upload it to social media featuring the hashtag #AllAboutYou, with the caption – A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats.

For Brigadoon Village CEO David Graham, Maritime Kids Health is a tribute to the generosity of spirit and unity of Atlantic Canadians.

“Together, we are all part of a Maritime child’s health journey, and we are grateful for the support of the community in helping raise Maritime families,” said Graham.

This year the Municipality of the County of Kings, Cape Breton Regional Municipality and the City of Fredericton recognized Sept. 14 as Maritime Kids Health Day with a proclamation.

The day was officially marked for the first time on Sept. 14, 2021, after the IWK Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic, Brigadoon Village and Make-A-Wish Canada formed an unprecedented partnership to amplify the health of children in the Maritimes.
