Brigadoon’s response to COVID-19

This is a challenging time around the world, in Canada, and here at home in Atlantic Canada. We want to assure you that the health and safety of our campers, volunteers, employees, and community are at the heart of everything we do. Brigadoon Village is carefully monitoring the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are following the advice and direction of the Public Health Agency of Canada and Nova Scotia Public Health.

To do our part in helping to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, including social distancing, we have closed our Halifax office and the Village until April 1, 2020, at the earliest. Our staff will be working from home and will be able to respond to emails and voicemails, so please do not hesitate to reach out.

For camper parents and families: We remain optimistic that we can run summer camp as usual and are proceeding with our application process. If you have not yet submitted an application for your child, we encourage you to do so. To provide you with some certainty in these uncertain times, we will not be collecting any parent contributions towards their child’s camp stay until we are able to confirm that the camp program is running. If you have concerns or questions, please contact our staff.

For donors and supporters: You can still help Brigadoon Village and our campers during this time. Our campers, more than ever, will be looking forward to coming to camp this summer and will need your support to make this happen. Perhaps during this time of social distancing, you can help bring a child closer to camp by donating the cost of your morning coffee or lunches that you won’t be spending over the next few weeks? You can help give extraordinary kids a chance to be ordinary by clicking here.

As this is a fluid and evolving situation, we will provide regular updates via BrigaNews and social media to provide additional information as any further decisions or directives are issued.
