Camp Silly-Yak

Camp Silly-Yak is the first overnight summer camp of its kind in Atlantic Canada for children and youth aged 7-18 living with celiac disease.

The menu for camp is carefully prepared by our Executive Chef and clinical dietitian to ensure that all of our campers’ dietary restrictions are considered when preparing the daily menus for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner. The camp environment will be gluten-free and nut-free for the full week.

Campers will participate in a wide range of camp activities, make meaningful connections with others, and build valuable skills that will help them succeed outside of the camp environment. All of this takes place during a week full of exceptional fun!

Please note: All new campers who received their diagnosis outside of the IWK Health Centre will need to provide a letter from their specialist or family doctor confirming they have a celiac diagnosis or have been advised not to have a biopsy at this stage but suspect celiac disease.
