Long-term investment into Atlantic Canadian kids.
Demand for space and service at Brigadoon has grown dramatically since we opened our doors a decade ago. We fill a critical gap in our community as no facility in Atlantic Canada is specifically designed to serve the entire pediatric chronic illness population the way Brigadoon does. As demand to attend our camps increases each year, so do the waitlists of children we’re unable to help.
Funds raised from the Shine On! Campaign will fulfill the vision of our late founder, Dave McKeage, of expanding our facilities to accommodate more kids and creating new recreational spaces for our campers to learn and grow.
Expanding and modernizing Brigadoon Village’s physical infrastructure will provide new facilities & program elements that will benefit campers and staff for years to come. Not only will we be able to host more children and provide enhanced accommodations for our medical staff, but our project also includes new areas for our campers to gain confidence, independence, and resilience, such as an outdoor kitchen, a new arts & culture centre with pottery kiln, a high ropes course, a giant swing, a climbing tower, additional waterfront activities and many other features. Construction is complete, and we are excited to share this new space with Atlantic Canadians!

We need you to be their sunshine!
In late 2019, we embarked on an ambitious capital expansion campaign to extend Brigadoon’s ability to serve children in Atlantic Canada. Our fundraising goal to complete this project is $12.5 million. Thanks to early, generous donations and an early injection of government funds, we’ve now raised $11.6 M. We need your help to reach our goal!
Meet the Cabinet Co-Chairs
The local community and government have come together to support the Chairs of this project, Scott Flemming, Dr. Mike Giacomantonio, and Krista McKeage, and we are so excited to share this new space with Atlantic Canadians!
As an organization, we’re all in and fully committed to the success of this project, and now we need your assistance to raise the remaining funds.
